Sensitivity
The leaves of the argan tree are small in size, display a green hue, and are persistent, demonstrating exceptional resistance to arid climatic conditions. To better adapt to the harsh climate characteristic of its preferred areas, some of these leaves have evolved to take the form of thorns, thereby enhancing the argan tree’s ability to thrive in challenging environments.
Fruit
The fruit of the argan tree, known as affiache, takes the form of a false drupe that is oval and spindle-shaped, measuring about 30 mm in length. When mature, it displays a yellow-brown hue. These fruits, often compared to olives, are distinguished by their larger size and more rounded shape. They contain an extremely hard nut that houses two or three kernels, from which argan oil will be extracted.
